What it costs to trade.
Trading CFDs has costs, and you lose money if the market moves against you. Here is every cost in plain words, so you can check it before you trade.
Five costs to know.
Spread
The small gap between the buy and sell price. You pay it every time you open a trade.
Commission
A fixed fee per lot on some accounts. Standard has none.
Overnight financing
A charge or credit for holding a leveraged position past the daily cut-off.
Currency conversion
A fee of 0.5% if your account currency differs from the currency of the instrument.
Account fees
Deposits, withdrawals and inactivity. All are listed in the fee table below.
All figures on this page are examples. Costs vary by instrument, account and market conditions.
You pay the spread, not a hidden fee.
Every instrument has two prices. You buy at the higher one and sell at the lower one. The gap is the spread. A trade starts slightly in the red by that amount.
- Spreads are quoted in pips. A pip is the smallest usual price step in forex
- Spreads can widen during news and when markets are quiet
- Pro and VIP accounts offer tighter spreads, with commission added
- Spreads from 1.2 pips on Standard, 0.6 on Pro and 0.0 on VIP (examples)
Compare costs by account.
Higher accounts trade tighter spreads and charge a small commission instead. Which is cheaper depends on how much you trade.
| Standard | Pro | VIP | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spreads from (pips) | 1.2 | 0.6 | 0.0 |
| Commission per lot | None | $3 | $2 |
| Minimum deposit | $250 | $1,000 | $10,000 |
| Max leverage | 1:500* | 1:500* | 1:500* |
| Overnight financing | Benchmark rate ± 3% | Benchmark rate ± 2.5% | Benchmark rate ± 2% |
Examples only, vary by instrument. *Leverage depends on your jurisdiction. Commission is charged per lot, once, and covers opening and closing the trade.
One trade, with the costs added up.
Example only. Not a real quote, and not a prediction. Say you buy 1 lot of EUR/USD (100,000 units) and close it straight away.
| Standard | Pro | VIP | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spread (example) | 1.2 pips | 0.6 pips | 0.0 pips |
| Spread cost at $10 per pip | $12 | $6 | $0 |
| Commission | $0 | $3 | $2 |
| Total cost to open and close | $12 | $9 | $2 |
The pip value of $10 is typical for 1 lot of EUR/USD with a USD account. Other instruments differ. The trade still gains or loses on price moves, and you can lose more than these costs.
Overnight financing, explained.
A leveraged position stays open
Past the daily cut-off time, 22:00 UTC (the platform server time).
A financing amount is applied
It depends on the instrument, your position size and market interest rates. It can be a charge or a credit. Financing = position value × (benchmark rate ± our markup) ÷ 365, per night. Long positions usually pay when rates are positive; short positions may receive.
Weekends count
Positions held over a weekend can be charged for extra days. Forex, metals and energies are charged three nights on Wednesday; indices and shares on Friday.
Day trades closed before the cut-off do not pay overnight financing. Long holds can cost more than the spread. Check before you hold. See what is leverage.
Money in, money out.
We list these so nothing is a surprise. The company confirms each one before launch.
